Aurora Insight CEO Jennifer Alvarez Appointed to Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee

DENVER, CO — FEBRUARY 25, 2022

Jennifer Alvarez, CEO and Co-Founder of Aurora Insight, has been announced by the NTIA as a 2022 appointee to the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC) at the U.S. Department of Commerce. The CSMAC is a federal committee that advises the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information on a broad range of issues regarding spectrum policy.  

With nearly three decades of experience working with the radio frequency spectrum and understanding its many uses, Alvarez brings a comprehensive understanding of the spectrum landscape.

Access to spectrum has become a top concern for organizations around the world and I am passionate about advancing innovative technologies that support the more efficient usage of spectrum,” said Jennifer Alvarez, CEO of Aurora Insight. 

During a 25-year career at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), Alvarez developed deep expertise across a broad range of technical topics related to wireless communications. In 2017, Alvarez, seeing the emerging potential of 5G, founded Aurora Insight, a business analytics company that provides radio frequency (RF) data and advanced analytics about wireless activity. As the CEO of Aurora Insight, Alvarez oversees the company’s spectrum solutions which include satellite-based RF sensing, signal detection, interference detection and more. She also led the development of Aurora’s RF sensing technologies and has created a strong Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio.
